Vortex Index
Developed by Etienne Botes and Douglas Siepman, the Vortex indicator consists of two oscillators that capture positive and negative trends. Although a formula is rather complex, the indicator is fairly simple to understand and easy to interpret. There is a bullish signal when the positive trend indicator crosses over the negative trend indicator or a level. Vice versa, there is a bearish signal when the negative trend indicator crosses over the positive trend indicator or a level. The Vortex indicator is above or below these levels, which means that it always has a clear indication of a bullish or bearish trend.
