How to update the Charts with Interactive Brokers

Interactive Brokers has a wide range of parameters available to customize the way to receive data making up historical charts. To meet the diverse needs of beeTrader clients, the ability to choose how to obtain data via API from Interactive Brokers’ platforms has been introduced.

When comparing charts on Interactive Brokers platforms with those on beeTrader we recommend setting the same update mode to avoid differences in the charts.

Show data outside of regular trading hours

With this selection Interactive Brokers will provide the chart data with all available values, including pre-open and post-close periods.

With this choice it is however possible to use the reception time filter present in the beeTrader chart selection window.

Show data only inside of regular trading hours

With this selection Interactive Brokers will provide chart data included in Regular Trading Hours only. The definition of the Regular Trading Hours can be found in the details of the contracts that can be viewed on the Interactive Brokers platforms.

With this choice it is not possible to use the reception time filter present in the beeTrader chart selection window, because the hours are determined directly and exclusively by Interactive Brokers.
